Ductless Mini-Split

Ductless Mini-Split Services in Columbia City, Fort Wayne, Ligonier, Wabash, Warsaw & surrounding areas

Schedule Online

Ductless mini-split systems are one of the fastest-growing cooling solutions in Northeast Indiana - and for good reason. They deliver precise, room-by-room comfort without the need for ductwork, making them a practical choice for older homes, additions, converted spaces, and properties where traditional central air isn't feasible.

Flow-Tech Plumbing & Heating installs and services ductless systems throughout Fort Wayne, New Haven, Warsaw, Ligonier, Wabash, and Columbia City. As a Bryant Factory Authorized Dealer with NATE-certified technicians and more than 30 years of service in Northeast Indiana, we install and maintain equipment engineered for Indiana's demanding climate.

How Does Ductless AC Work?

A ductless mini-split consists of two main components: an outdoor condenser unit and one or more indoor air handlers mounted in the rooms or zones you want to condition. Refrigerant lines – typically run through a small hole in the wall – connect the two, eliminating ductwork entirely.

Each indoor air handler can be controlled independently, allowing different temperatures in different rooms. Most systems include a remote control, and many Bryant ductless units are compatible with smart home controls.

Because there’s no ductwork, mini-splits also avoid the energy losses that ducted systems experience. Duct leakage can account for up to 30% of energy loss in a forced-air system – a loss ductless systems sidestep entirely.

Ductless Mini-Split Installation & Replacement

Proper sizing and placement are critical to performance. An undersized unit will struggle on Indiana’s hottest days; an oversized unit will short-cycle and fail to dehumidify. Flow-Tech technicians perform a thorough load calculation before recommending any system.

As a Bryant Factory Authorized Dealer, every installation is backed by manufacturer warranties that require certified dealer installation to remain valid.

Ductless Mini-Split Repair & Maintenance

Annual tune-ups keep refrigerant levels correct, filters clean, and electrical connections tight. Flow-Tech recommends scheduling maintenance twice a year for heat pump-mode systems – spring before cooling season, fall before heating season.

If your existing ductless system is underperforming – insufficient cooling, unusual noises, ice formation, or error codes – our technicians diagnose and repair all major brands.

Benefits of Ductless Mini-Split Installation

• Energy efficiency: Without duct losses, ductless systems operate at high SEER2 ratings – many models exceed 20 SEER2 – using inverter-driven compressors that adjust output to match demand.

• Zoned comfort: Each air handler operates independently, so you condition only the rooms you’re using.

• Year-round use: Most ductless mini-splits function as heat pumps, providing both cooling in summer and efficient heating in winter.

• Flexible installation: Air handlers can be wall-mounted, ceiling-recessed, or floor-mounted. Installation is minimally invasive and typically completed in a single day.

• Quiet operation: Indoor air handlers run as low as 19 decibels – quieter than a whisper – ideal for bedrooms and home offices.

• Improved air quality: Many ductless systems include multi-stage filtration that reduces dust, allergens, and airborne particles.
